Staxvan ( /staχˈvʌn/ ) is the bone cypress, an ancient tree in the Apaxtari lands under whose shadow the fallen forms of the Zal sentinels are bathed in the sacred flame of Apaxtaran. It is where the ashes of those forsaken sentries are buried and thus grow many a pale leaf upon the boughs of the olden tree.
Staxvan is an introduction to “Kahropa”, the upcoming album by Erancnoir, which will serve as the soundtrack to “Kahropa: The Amber Heart of Apaxtaran”, the debut epic/dark fantasy novel by Harpag Karnik, scheduled for release in winter 2026.
This EP includes the Bandcamp-exclusive bonus track “Zemestan” (Persian word meaning winter), a 2025 re-recording of “Nächtlicher Frost”, the very first track by Erancnoir, originally released in 2018.
