Forelunar – Hwaa (화)

The latest EP by the tragic entity, Forelunar, contains two interpretations of the song HWAA by the South Korean girl group (G)I-dle. The song itself is about heartbreak and the subsequent healing and moving on. But with its unique scenery and artistic approach, it can become subject to deeper emotional awakening and that is why I came up with two cover versions of the same song. The first song (火/Fire) is the raging growl inside you when sadness and heartbreak conquer your heart; the second one (花/Flower) is the prevailing anthem of coming to terms and moving on.

As Harpag himself puts it out: “I poured my own emotions into the already touching sound of the original song. It is of course imperfect, but I mean to express my deepest respect to the group and above all, its leader, Soyeon, for she has been a source of inspiration to me and can be an exemplary artist to the younger audience: A woman of talent, hard work and self-confidence.”

May this little journey appeal to your ears, wandering listener.

The EP is available on Bandcamp and Ardawahisht’s official YouTube channel.
